Film Breakdown: Mike Weber

Saturday, February 1, 2014

Michigan seems to have it's finger on the running back's in the 2015 recruiting class. Mike Weber is one that should be included in that group.

Recently Michigan lost a pledge from Damien Harris after the firing of their OC Al Borges. As a result of losing Harris, as of now, in 2015, who has also said that Michigan remains at the top of his list, Weber's name has surfaced. Many believe that he may end up at Ohio state, but I would pump the breaks now after the Harris fallout.

Weber attends Cass. Tech in Michigan, who has been a pipeline for Michigan as of late, so that could be something that sways Weber during the process. However, I don't think simply because of where he is from will decide everything for him. There is a good relationship with Michigan as far as his coaching staff goes, so interest will be there for him.

I've reviewed the film and you can check out what I think Weber's best attributes are, and what he needs to work on, after the jump.

Visit Reaction: Mike Weber

Sunday, February 17, 2013

'15 RB Mike Weber visited campus today and caught the game against Penn State. Weber is high on Michigan's radar for the '15 class. Weber has completed his Michigan school visit week, as he just finished visiting Michigan State earlier this week. He also plans to visit Ohio State next Sunday.

It appears that Weber had a great time during his visit and I caught up with him shortly afterwards. Here are the highlights from our conversation:

- He said that he had a really good time and that he enjoyed himself. He also says that Michigan has great fans.

- He met with Fred Jackson, Al Borges, and Jeff Hecklinski for a quick chat. Since the focus isn't entirely on 2015 just yet, the conversation was very brief and it was a basic "getting to know each other" chat.

- He said that the visit really opened his eyes more to Michigan and "better believe Michigan will be one of the schools I will be choosing from when it comes down to committing".

- He plans on visiting campus again when Michigan plays Michigan State at home.

Offer interviews: Mike Weber

Mike Weber has had a high school career anyone would dream of. His high school has one of the best football teams in the nation, many of their players are headed to Ann Arbor, and have a freak at quarterback named Jayru Campbell.

Two years, two state championships. Weber has only been in high school for two years and he's already gotten two nice pieces of jewelry to show for it. Now, the icing on the cake is an offer to play runningback at the University of Michigan.

I spoke with Weber about his offer and more.

- On his high school career so far, is this real life?!: "(laughs)It's crazy because I came straight from little league to play high school football. I worked hard and just played football and had fun doing it. After that, good things happened. I didn't think it would've happened this fast. I'm blessed, man."

- Thoughts on receiving Michigan offer: "Yeah, I didn't expect it this soon because I haven't heard from Michigan having interest in me and it just happened. I couldn't be happier."

- There's a long way to go, what's next?: "I'm going to visit Michigan really soon, just not sure when. I will also be visiting Ohio State as well."

- On having teammates (Jourdan Lewis, David Dawson, Delano Hill, etc.) being in his ear, how does it effect his recruitment?: "(laughs)Ever since I got the offer they've been in my ear. But, if I end up deciding to go there, that will definitely be one of the reasons I go there. My brothers are there."
