Michigan Offers Pair of 2015 Linebacker Prospects

The Michigan Wolverines coaching staff is making their rounds in Indianapolis today, as they have offered two of the top-ten inside linebackers in the class of 2015.

Michigan has extended scholarship offers to four-star linebackers Darrin Kirkland Jr. (Lawrence Central HS) and Asmar Bilal (Ben Davis HS), who are ranked sixth and seventh at their positions, respectively, according to the 247 Composite Rankings.

With the commitment of 2015 four-star cornerback Garrett Taylor, the Michigan Wolverines seem to be looking at a shift in philosophy of sorts in terms of how to build their defense.

In the last couple of classes, Brady Hoke and staff have focused their attention on the defensive side of the ball to bringing in some of the more athletic secondary prospects in the country, and it should pay off in the future.

Cornerback Garrett Taylor Commits to Michigan

The recruiting drought has ended for the Michigan Football program as class of 2015 cornerback Garrett Taylor announced today via his Twitter page that he has committed to play for head coach Brady Hoke and the Wolverines.

Taylor, a native of Richmond, Virginia, is a four-star prospect, top 100 player, and eighth-ranked cornerback in the class, according to 247 Sports' composite rankings.

2015 QB Josh Rosen: What A Commit Would Mean For His Top Schools

Five-star 2015 quarterback prospect Josh Rosen is scheduled to make his college decision at 3:30 p.m EST on Thursday. While UCLA has been the prohibitive favorite for quite some time now, Rosen made things interesting late last week when he took a surprise visit to Michigan.

The teams that are the favorites to land Rosen are UCLA, Michigan, Stanford and California. A commit from 2015's top quarterback prospect would be a big haul, and you can see what that would mean for each team after the jump.

Updated: Justin Hilliard To Visit Michigan This Weekend

Update 3/12/14: Hilliard told TBHR earlier today that he will probably be headed up to Ann Arbor on Saturday. His goal for the visit is to keep building a relationship with the players and coaches and get a closer look at the campus.

It has been widely speculated that the Michigan Wolverines were going to get a couple of high profile recruits to visit this coming weekend, and it appears that we have one name now: 2015 five-star linebacker Justin Hilliard, according to Steve Lorenz of 247Sports.com

Hilliard, from St. Xavier High School in Cincinatti, Ohio, is a the top-ranked outside linebacker in this class and the 14th overall player in the country, according to 247 Sports.

Updated: Five-star '15 Quarterback Torrance Gibson Speaks on Michigan Interest

Much has been discussed about what direction the Michigan Wolverines will go at the quarterback position in the 2015 recruiting class. A new name popped up that has not been mentioned until now: Torrance Gibson.

Gibson is a five-star prospect and the top ranked dual-threat quarterback in the 2015 class, according to 247 Sports. We had the chance to catch up with him in the wake of his contact with the Wolverines. Check out what he had to say after the jump.
